Hi, I’m Katie,
I have been practising mindfulness and yoga for over 20 years – but it wasn’t an abstract interest that drew me in. It was a necessity. Raising five children while managing work, study, and the full weight of life’s demands taught me first-hand what sustained pressure actually does to a person. I needed tools that worked – not in theory, but in the middle of a busy, relentless day. That search became a journey, and that journey became my life’s work.
Over time, I formalised my practice through comprehensive training: a 200-hour and 300-hour qualification with Lumi Power Yoga, mindfulness training with the Oxford School of Mindfulness, and further study in yin yoga, meditation, and Pilates. I have also trained with Zen Buddhist practitioner Pete Cherry, which deepened my understanding of mindfulness in ways that go well beyond the physical practice.
Today, I have delivered sessions for both corporate and community groups, and I understand that what works has to be accessible, not aspirational. The people I work with are busy. They don’t need more complexity – they need simple, effective techniques that fit around real life.
Alongside my corporate work, I teach public classes, courses, and workshops, and I am a teacher with The Lumi Foundation, a charitable organisation dedicated to making yoga and mindfulness available to underserved communities – something I feel deeply proud to be part of.
At the heart of everything I do is a return to the foundational principles of mindfulness: the awareness practices that sit at the core of all yoga traditions. My work focuses on helping people see the root causes of stress – not just manage the symptoms – and on sharing simple, practical techniques that can be integrated into busy professional lives to enhance wellbeing, emotional regulation, and performance.
